The Goddess Test (Goddess Test #1)...

It's always been just Kate and her mom--and her mother is dying. Her last wish? To move back to her childhood home. So Kate's going to start at a new school with no friends, no other family and the fear her mother won't live past the fall.

Then she meets Henry. Dark. Tortured. And mesmerizing. He claims to be Hades, god of the Underworld--and if she accepts his bargain, he'll keep her mother alive while Kate tries to pass seven tests.

Kate is sure he's crazy--until she sees him bring a girl back from the dead. Now saving her mother seems crazily possible. If she succeeds, she'll become Henry's future bride, and a goddess.

When starting this book you have to put all knowledge of Greek mythology out of head. Even the story of Hades and Persephone. Just through it out the window... See there is goes... The tricks to reading this book is not to skip to the back and see the 'Guide of Gods' because those contain spoilers and stuff like that. The other is to not skip through the book randomly reading parts that you shouldn't be reading until you get to that part (I know I promised not to do that, but you know). This book is, for some reason, so hooking from the first chapter (I'm not kidding, my friend started randomly reading it in Chem, I told her that our other friend had dibs before her and almost attacked her when she found out). When you first read it you don't realize that it's an adaptation of a myth. It's not until you get to Eden Manor and everyone starts mentioning Persephone that the mythology starts to kick in. Me being a HUGE fan of Greece culture and ESPECIALLY their mythology this was immediately a must-read. I always set the bar high when the book is about something of interest. If it almost reaches then it most likely gets 5 stars, if it exceeds that expectation, like this, it WILL get 5 stars. This was worth every star and as many recommendations as are being sent. If you are on Goodreads... ignore all of the negative reviews cuz they are WRONG!

Waiting on Wednesday (6)...

"Waiting On" Wednesday is a weekly event, hosted by Breaking the Spine, that spotlights upcoming releases that we're getting fidgety for.

The Golden Lily (Bloodlines #2) Expected publication: June 19, 2012

The second thrilling installment in Richelle Mead’s Vampire Academy spinoff series.

Tough, brainy alchemist Sydney Sage and doe-eyed Moroi princess Jill Dragomir are in hiding at a human boarding school in the sunny, glamorous world of Palm Springs, California. The students—children of the wealthy and powerful—carry on with their lives in blissful ignorance, while Sydney, Jill, Eddie and Adrian must do everything in their power to keep their secret safe. But with forbidden romances, unexpected spirit bonds, and the threat of Strigoi moving ever closer, hiding the truth is harder than anyone thought.

Populated with new faces as well as familiar ones, Richelle Mead’s breathtaking Bloodlines series explores all the friendship, romance, battles and betrayals that made the #1 New York Times bestselling Vampire Academy series so addictive. In this second book, the drama is hotter, the romances are steamier, and the stakes are even higher.

Will's Letter...

This is a video by cheervolley4eva and she also did a Clockwork Prince video that is AMAZING!! Watch this NOW!!!!

Sleepless...

Eron DeMarchelle isn't supposed to feel this connection. He is a Sandman, a supernatural being whose purpose is to seduce his human charges to sleep. Though he can communicate with his charges in their dreams, he isn't encouraged to do so. After all, becoming too involved in one human's life could prevent him from helping others get their needed rest.

But he can't deny that he feels something for Julia, a lonely girl with fiery red hair and sad dreams. Just weeks ago, her boyfriend died in a car accident, and Eron can tell that she feels more alone than ever. Eron was human once too, many years ago, and he remembers how it felt to lose the one he loved. In the past, Eron has broken rules to protect Julia, but now, when she seems to need him more than ever, he can't reach her. Eron's time as a Sandman is coming to a close, and his replacement doesn't seem to care about his charges. Worse, Julia is facing dangers she doesn't recognize, and Eron, as he transitions back to being human, may be the only one who can save her. . . .

Even once they've become human again, Sandmen are forbidden to communicate with their charges. But Eron knows he won't be able to forget Julia. Will he risk everything for a chance to be with the girl he loves?

Cyn Balog's follow-up to Fairy Tale has more wit, more supernatural delights, and more star-crossed romance! Teen girls will love this story of a Sandman who falls in love with his human charge.

So I have to admit that this was just put off and put off, I should really start reviewing things sooner... but what can you do? And one last thing... I AM ON A READING ROLE!!!! I must've gotten awesome books for Christmas because I might want to reread all of them!!! Actual review time though. The summary-I know its now a summary but I can't think of the actual word right now- makes it sound a lot more dramatic than it actually is. It's still REALLY good and you should still read it, but if you base your opinion off of what you are reading above and you expect a complete war over this girl, you are completely wrong. This is a different concept, which is why I think that I love it so much. I mean, how many books do you see about sandmen? NONE!!! This was a different concept for a paranormal and I think that it was a win. Most people on Goodreads didn't like it though, DO NOT LISTEN TO THEM! THEY ARE WRONG! I honestly say that this was one of my favorite books because I just fell in love with Eron immediately and I liked his ignorance when it came to the modern world. I also liked Julia because she was scarred from an experience she had when she was seven, but she pushes past that every day (not to mention that her [now dead] boyfriend abuses her everyday and she lets him). I think that Julia was very relate able and that Eron will be PERFECT for her even though we can only draw consclusions.

In My Bookbag (5)...

In My Mailbox is a weekly meme hosted by The Story Siren. Every week you are to share the books you received that week. It could either be ones you bought, or gotten at the library, and ones that you'd receive to review on the blog. I am calling it 'In My Bookbag' because I am always taking books out of the library!

Crossed (Matched #2)...

The hotly awaited second book in the dystopian Matched trilogy

In search of a future that may not exist and faced with the decision of who to share it with, Cassia journeys to the Outer Provinces in pursuit of Ky - taken by the Society to his certain death - only to find that he has escaped, leaving a series of clues in his wake.

Cassia's quest leads her to question much of what she holds dear, even as she finds glimmers of a different life across the border. But as Cassia nears resolve and certainty about her future with Ky, an invitation for rebellion, an unexpected betrayal, and a surprise visit from Xander - who may hold the key to the uprising and, still, to Cassia's heart - change the game once again. Nothing is as expected on the edge of Society, where crosses and double crosses make the path more twisted than ever.

First let's talk about the elephant in the post, yes we do see Ky's point of view and no it is not a disaster of a view like Beautiful Creatures. In Creatures the male point of view (the whole book) could've been replaced with a female and nothing would've changed. Yes, it's bad. Anyways we're talking about Crossed. It takes place in the Outer Provinces-the Carving to be more specific. There is a lot more adventure and unraveling of emotions. We get two more characters that I hope to see in the third one and I need to know EXACTLY what Xander's secret is. So good, these keep getting better and better and I hope that the next cover is red because that's the color of the placeholder!
Just another little thing... did you know that Disney bought the rights to the movie? Its true.

Update...

Just letting you guys know that I'm gonna be trying some things that are differently on the blog so if you see something weird and different then that's why. YES I know that I am slacking I'm behind on a few reviews but I'll get caught up (eventually).

Exile (Aurelia #2)...

Crown princess Aurelia is a survivor. She survived attempted assassination. She survived the king's rejection. She survived her mother's abandonment. And now, in exile, she must survive her kingdom-from hostile crowds to raw frontier to desert sands. But even as unknown assailants track Aurelia and expedition guide Robert, she knows her greatest risk is falling in love...

This is just as good, if not better than the first one. Aurelia and Robert are on their adventures and their relationship grows... ALOT. I love Aurelia and LOVE Robert. My friends and I have been making top 5 lists of guys from books that we like and Robert is on that list. He is the perfect match for Aurelia. Where she is headstrong, impatient, and emotional, he is levelheaded (well for the most part if you've read the first one [which I recommend] then you know that he's very at war with himself), patient, isn't afraid to argue and push Aurelia when she needs it, and is am AWESOME friend. I love how in this book their relationship grows from an incident and they had been fighting with each other before. I love how they interact with each other and Anne Osterlund has to write a third one because I'm not ready to let them go. The characters are believable and relate able. This book has everything, action, humor, a little romance, suspense and a little mystery behind it. GO READ THE FIRST ONE SO THAT YOU CAN READ THIS ONE!!!!!! And her (Anne Osterlund) is very consistent with her books they are all really good. Academy 7 is also by her, is also very recommended.

P.R. if you want to read my favorite part (its kinda depressing actually) then I'll post it later under 'Sneak Peek'

.

Ok I'll admit it, I have been putting this review off for... well a while. Let's just say that today the that I'm actually writing this review is the 18th... of January. For some odd reason I found writing this review has been difficult, not because the book was bad, cause is actually pretty good -just as good as the Luxe series and the Bright Young Things (#1), actually very good and Anna Godberson has made another of my faves,I think that it was just a lot for that I just couldn't form the right words for it... anyways... on to the review. Its been a few months since the ending of Bright Young Things and Letty, Cordelia, and Astrid are all best friends. I think that this didn't have as much content until the very end when something happens to Astrid. It was still good but the first one was better, I think that this was more of a let's-get-to-know-our-characters-now-that-they're-all-in-the-place-they-need-to-be book.
